Charlotte's Web

You know the part of Charlotte's Web at the end of the book when all of Charlotte's babies go flying off into the breeze and Wilbur is tearfully saying good-bye? That's how I feel now.

My sister lives in Nashville, my brother in Denver. My dad died 2 years ago. And this week my mom sold her house. She is moving from NY to TX in the beginning of January. THen I will be all alone, except of course for my daughter...everyone else will be a plane ride away.

I really wish life came complete with a rewind button!

Do you like my hat?

Hugs here, as well. My parents and older sister are gone, my daughters are in Munich and Mass, so it's my son a block away. At least he won't be heading anywhere for 6 years.....

then I'll need to borrow your rewind button.

Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are.

shabs, I know what you're talking about. When my kids left for different cities after school (and when they were both in college which overlapped), I only had my folks in town. Then I left, and, fortuitously, the kids are here, but my parents are in Seattle. Now it looks like I'm moving to Texas, the kids stay here, and mom and dad are in Seattle. Where in Texas is your mom moving? What synchronicity.

When members of your family live in different places, you feel like a piece of you goes with each of them. I remember that feeling very well.

Hugz..

Look at it as a free place to stay in the warm during the winter...

I'm easy, I'm just not cheap...

Sounds familiar... a brother in each of the other three US time zones... parents passed away (one after moving and selling the house), and all that jazz. Not fun, but you'll find a way to make it work for you. Hopefully, you've got a local friends network. That always help.

Well, look at it this way, Shabby. You've always got an escape from Gotham.
